Once the Marula fruit has ripened from naturally grown trees in lush Limpopo, each fruit is gathered by hand, before being de-stoned and crushed. Given that the elephants don’t get to them first! The pulp goes through a process of fermentation to produce a ‘wine’ of sorts. It is then barreled and left for two years. Once ready, the cream gets added in; giving Amarula its beautiful velvety consistency.
